2006 Milan No-Till Field Day - Thursday, July 27

Community Events

The University of Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station appreciates the Milan community's support of the Milan No-Till Crop Production Field Day. The following community activities are scheduled to coincide with the field day events.

No-Till Pageants

PLEASE JOIN US FOR A DAY OF FASHIONS & FORMALS, Saturday, July 8, 2006, Milan Middle School Auditorium & Cafeteria, 4040 Middle Road, Milan, TN

Jr. Mr. & Miss Milan No-Till
Doors open @ 8 a.m. Registration at the door. Pageant begins at 9 a.m. Boys: Ages 0-9; Girls: Ages 0-12. Entry Fee: $20 Beauty; $35 Beauty & Special Categories. King, Queen and three alternates will be awarded. Spectators: $5 each.

Miss Tennessee Outstanding Teen & Teen Princess Preliminary
Pageant begins @ 2 p.m. Girls: Ages 13-17. Entry Fee: $60. Titles, savings bonds, and gifts will be awarded to the winners. All contestants must pre-register. Visit the website – misstennessee.org for more information. Spectators: $10 each.

Miss Tennessee Preliminary Miss Milan No-Till
Pageant begins @ 7 p.m. Girls: Ages 17-24. Entry Fee: none. Titles, scholarships in excess of $500, and gifts will be awarded. All contestants must pre-register. All competitions are scored on a scale of 1.0 - 10.0 using whole numbers with each contestant’s high and low score in each category dropped by the auditors. Fashions & Formals Luncheon, Saturday, July 8th @ Milan Middle School Cafeteria, 12 noon. Advance ticket sales only, $20. ***Attend a full day of pageantry and the fashion show luncheon for $35. World's Flag Race (formerly Milan No-Till Horse Show)
The 3rd World’s Flag Race, which includes all running classes, will begin with “warm-ups” on Friday, July 14th starting at 6:00 p.m. in the riding arena of Milan City Park, on Hwy. 104 E., Milan, Tennessee. Show time will begin on Saturday, July 15th starting at 3:00 p.m. All calsses will be 100% pay back plus added money. Negative Coggins will be required on all horses. Concession stand will be open. Everyone is welcome. Admission is $5.00 per vehicle. NOTE: The 4th Annual World’s Flag Race is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, 2007.

Milan No-Till Golf Tournament
The 17th No-Till Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, July 26 at the Milan Golf and Country Club. The event is hosted by the Milan Chamber of Commerce and gold level sponsor BancorpSouth Bank in Milan. The Milan Country Club is located directly across from the no-till field day site. Tee time is 8:00 a.m. Registration and Reservations are required in advance. Contact Milan Chamber of Commerce at (731) 686-7494 for more information.

NOTE: The next Milan No-Till Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008.

No-Till Antique Tractor and Engine Show
The 2006 Milan No-Till Field Day will host an Antique Tractor and Engine show on the Field Day grounds Thursday, July 27. All makes of Tractors and Engines will be welcome. Trophies will be awarded in the following categories: Best of Show; Most Tractors Exhibited by an Individual; and the Exhibitor traveling the Longest Distance. Due to traffic congestion on the morning of the Field Day all tractors and engines MUST be in place on the Field Day site by 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 26. NOTE: The next scheduled No-Till Antique Tractor and Engine Show will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008.

ClayHill Motor Sports No-Till Stock Car Races
The 1st Annual ClayHill Motor Sports No-Till Stock Car Races will be held at ClayHill Motor Sports located on Rimmer Road in Atwood, Tennessee Saturday, July 29, 2006. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with races starting at 7:30 p.m. We will be racing Street Stock, Fast Street, Mini Stock, Hummers 18 and Under, Hummers 18 and Over, Pure Street and Open Wheel Modified. A full line of concessions will be available. Come out and enjoy an exciting night of dirt track racing and watch the dirt fly high. NOTE: The 2nd Annual ClayHill Motor Sports No-Till Stock Car Races will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2007.
